RMH Massage Therapy uses a clinically focused, results driven approach to treatment. Rather than applying a single style of massage to every client, sessions may incorporate multiple therapeutic techniques depending on the individual’s condition, goals, and response to treatment.

Medical Massage

Medical massage is designed to address specific conditions such as injury recovery, post surgical restrictions, chronic pain, and mobility limitations. Treatment is guided by assessment, medical history, and functional findings. The goal is to improve movement, reduce pain, and support recovery rather than provide general relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue work targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. This technique can be effective for long standing tension, postural strain, and restricted movement patterns. When used appropriately, deep tissue massage can help improve tissue elasticity and reduce discomfort associated with chronic muscular tightness.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy focuses on the relationship between the nervous system and muscle function. It is often used to address trigger points, referred pain patterns, and imbalances that contribute to persistent discomfort. This approach can help restore more efficient muscle activation and reduce strain on surrounding structures.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy targets localized areas of muscle tension that can refer pain to other parts of the body. By addressing these points directly, treatment may reduce pain intensity, improve range of motion, and decrease compensatory movement patterns.

Active Release Based Techniques

Active release based techniques combine manual pressure with guided movement. This approach is often used to address adhesions, scar tissue, and restricted soft tissue mobility. It can be particularly beneficial for clients recovering from injury or experiencing movement related pain.

An Integrated Approach

Most sessions involve a combination of these techniques rather than relying on one method alone. Treatment is adapted in real time based on how the body responds, with the goal of addressing underlying contributors to pain and dysfunction rather than masking symptoms.

Aftercare and What to Expect After Treatment

Some soreness after therapeutic work is common, especially following deep tissue, trigger point, or active release based techniques. Mild to moderate soreness may last up to thirty six hours, and in some cases up to forty eight hours.

Aftercare Recommendations

  • Hydrate normally and consistently after your session.

  • Maintain light movement the rest of the day. Gentle walking and normal activity often help reduce stiffness.

  • Avoid heavy lifting or high intensity training immediately after intense therapeutic work when possible.

  • Use heat for general muscle tightness and stiffness. Use cold for sharp irritation or localized inflammation if needed.

  • Monitor how your body responds over the next one to two days and note any changes in pain patterns or range of motion.

When to Contact Matt

Contact Matt if:

• soreness lasts longer than forty eight hours

• symptoms worsen significantly instead of gradually improving

• you experience new or unusual sensations that feel concerning

Therapeutic massage is intended to support recovery and improve function. Aftercare helps your body integrate the work and improves the likelihood of sustained results.
